Good behaviour contracts can be a helpful way of addressing inappropriate, non-violent patient behaviour while supporting an ongoing relationship between the practice and patient. Their use should form part of a wider practice policy or code of conduct, be linked to specific behaviours, and be applied fairly, consistently and without discrimination.
Section 6.3 of the NHS England » Primary medical services policy and guidance manual (PGM) refers to the use of good behavioural contracts as one route to support a patient’s continued registration.
