Job summary
Woodingdean Medical Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and caring salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive practice in Brighton.
We are a well-established practice caring for approximately 8,500 patients and are proud of the strong team we have built. We want our GPs to have the time and support they need to provide excellent patient care, while maintaining a healthy and sustainable working life.
We are initially looking for two sessions per week, increasing to four sessions (demand dependant). We are happy to discuss the working pattern with the successful candidate.

Responsibilities
The role
As one of our salaried GPs, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services as part of our wider clinical team.
The role will include a mixture of face-to-face, telephone and video consultations, together with appropriate home/care home visits and the usual clinical responsibilities associated with general practice.
You will not have a personally assigned patient list. However, on your working days you will contribute fairly to the practices clinical workload, including prescriptions, correspondence, results and other associated clinical administration.
You will work closely with our GP Partners, clinical colleagues, patient services team and wider PCN professionals to ensure patients receive safe, responsive and well-coordinated care.

You will be:
- A vocationally trained and accredited GP with current GMC registration
- An excellent communicator with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Committed to high standards of clinical care and governance
- Confident using primary care clinical systems
- Organised and able to manage your clinical workload effectively
- Interested in contributing positively to the continuing development of the practice

The successful candidate will:
- Provide high-quality patient care including prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management and health promotion
- Develop appropriate care and treatment plans in partnership with patients
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone and video consultations and appropriate home visits
- Ensure appropriate follow-up of patients
- Generate, review and sign acute and repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice policy and current guidance
- Investigate and refer patients appropriately
- Review and action results and clinical correspondence
- Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
- Contribute to QOF, audit and quality-improvement activity
- Participate in clinical, educational and governance meetings
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the practice, PCN and wider health and care system
- Contribute appropriately to cover arrangements during periods of GP absence
