The Avenue Surgery is a friendly, forward-thinking GP practice based in South Moulsecoomb, Brighton, caring for approximately 6,500 patients. Our patient population has a higher-than-average level of deprivation, providing our team with the opportunity to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our local community.
We provide a wide range of services, including women’s health and contraception, asthma and COPD, diabetes and hypertension clinics, childhood immunisations.

Responsibilities
As a Salaried GP, you will provide general medical services to our patient population and work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking face-to-face, telephone and other appropriate patient consultations
- Assessing, diagnosing and managing a broad range of acute and long-term conditions
- Prescribing and reviewing medication in accordance with current guidance
- Making appropriate referrals and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records
- Contributing to clinical meetings, quality improvement and practice development
- Supporting effective multidisciplinary working across the practice
- Participating in appropriate clinical governance, safeguarding and patient-safety processes
- Contributing to the continued development and delivery of high-quality primary care services
Requirements
- Full GMC registration
- Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
- Appropriate medical indemnity
- Excellent clinical and communication skills
- A commitment to safe, compassionate and patient-centred care
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- An interest in contributing to the continued development of the practice
