Job summary
Join our multi-disciplinary GP team and play a key role in delivering compassionate, community-focused care to patients and families across our diverse population. You’ll work closely with a wide range of allied health professionals, supported by a strong clinical network and excellent CPD opportunities.
As you grow within the organisation, you’ll have the chance to develop specialist interests and step into enhanced roles such as Safeguarding Lead, Caldicott Guardian, Clinical Governance Lead, or Education and Training Supervisor. You may also choose to contribute to service development or run group clinics, including areas like hormone health, MSK, women’s health, or mental health.

Responsibilities
The role is diverse and holds many aspects of primary care, including but not limited to…
- Providing face-to-face and telephone consultations, home visits, and managing patient queries
- Making autonomous clinical decisions for both self-referred and team-referred patients
- Assess undifferentiated/undiagnosed conditions and screen for early disease
- Offering counselling, health education, and referring or admitting/discharge patients appropriately
- Maintaining high-quality clinical notes and supporting audit activities
- Managing acute and repeat prescriptions in line with practice protocols
- Carrying out all core GP duties within primary care

- Helping to shape new services and care models in primary care
- Following all practice policies, safeguarding confidentiality and safety
- Engaging in ongoing learning, audits, QOF/IIF work, and enhanced services
- Supporting digital record development, summarising, and coding
- Attending relevant training and practice events
Requirements
Essential criteria
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent
- Evidence of commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Sound understanding of current NHS policies and guidelines, including clinical governance
- Awareness of safeguarding practices and policies
- Knowledge of prescribing protocols and formulary adherence
Desirable criteria
- Familiarity with local health services and community resources

- Commitment to diversity and inclusion, aligned with the practices ethos
- Ability to work between the practices three sites as required
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience working as a GP in a primary care setting
- Experience in managing a range of undifferentiated and undiagnosed clinical conditions
- Experience with Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other quality performance initiatives
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in delivering enhanced services or specialised clinics (e.g. hormone clinics, community outreach)
- Participation in audit and clinical standard-setting initiatives
Skill and abilities
Essential criteria
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills
- Ability to work autonomously while making safe, evidence-based decisions
- Competent in using electronic patient record systems and clinical coding
- Strong communication skills to effectively counsel, educate, and build rapport with patients and multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to service improvement and development
Desirable criteria
- Additional qualifications or special interests that complement the practice’s services

Benefits package
- Competitive salary – £11,500.00 per session
- Permanent; full-time or part-time contracts (four to eight sessions per week)
- Flexible working hours: between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday
- 30 days of Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays and 1 week’s study leave (pro rata)
