Job summary
Deliver the kind of General Practice you trained for
At IC24, we believe great General Practice is about more than appointments. It’s about building relationships, working collaboratively and having the time and support to provide high-quality care to your patients.
We’re looking for a Salaried GP to join our established Primary Care team, working within our Ship Street Surgery in Brighton.
This is an opportunity to become part of a growing, multi-disciplinary team delivering comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. You’ll work alongside experienced GPs, nurses, pharmacists and wider healthcare professionals to provide accessible, proactive primary care while helping shape the future of our services.
Our practices care for patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including long-term conditions, mental health, sexual health, HIV care and women’s health. If you have experience or a particular interest in women’s health, we’d especially like to hear from you.
Alongside routine General Practice, you’ll have opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, health promotion, clinical leadership and service development within a supportive organisation that encourages professional growth.
This is a role for a GP who enjoys working collaboratively, values continuity of care and wants to make a genuine difference to the communities they serve.
Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
Delivering high-quality Primary Care
Providing comprehensive General Practice services through face-to-face and virtual consultations, clinical administration and home visits where appropriate.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Collaborating with GPs, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Caring for a varied patient population
Managing acute and long-term conditions while supporting patients with complex physical, mental health and social care needs.
Supporting prevention and service improvement
Contributing to health promotion, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and service development to continually improve patient outcomes.
Helping shape the future of the practice
Working with colleagues to achieve Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and locally commissioned services while identifying opportunities to improve care.
Maintaining excellent clinical standards
Working within GMC guidance, clinical governance frameworks and evidence-based practice while maintaining your own continuing professional development.
Requirements
Who this role suits
You’ll be a GMC-registered GP who enjoys working collaboratively and wants to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking Primary Care team.
You’ll thrive in this role if you
- Are registered with the GMC and included on the National Performers list
- Have experience or a strong clinical interest in women’s health
- Enjoy managing a varied caseload across all aspects of General Practice
- Are confident caring for patients with complex clinical needs, including mental health, HIV and gender reassignment
- Value continuity of care and building long-term relationships with patients
- Work well within a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients
- Are adaptable and willing to work across both practice sites
- Are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care
Let’s be honest about the role
General Practice is rewarding, but it can also be demanding.
You’ll be caring for patients with a broad range of health needs, balancing face-to-face consultations, telephone appointments, clinical administration and occasional home visits. Some clinics will be busy, and you’ll regularly be making complex clinical decisions while managing competing priorities.
Working across two practice sites also requires flexibility and good communication with colleagues.
What cannot easily be taught is clinical judgement, compassion and a genuine commitment to providing excellent patient care.
If you bring those qualities, you’ll find a supportive team, experienced colleagues and an organisation that values your contribution.
