About us
Orchard Surgery is a long established and friendly 9000 patient practice in the lovely market town of Horsham, West Sussex. We are looking for a salaried GP to join our team due to colleague relocation.
Orchard is a SystmOne practice. We have embraced the Total Triage model since June 2025, reducing our routine appointment waits from 5 weeks to 2.5 weeks and seeing all patients who have an urgent condition on the day. Our standard GP face to face appointment is 20 minutes, recognising the need to address increasing levels of medical and social complexity in our population.
We are educators of the whole multidisciplinary team, encouraging our staff to develop their individual skills and extend their roles within the practice.
We are leading the development of a Women’s Health Hub for Horsham District neighbourhood. We run menopause group consultations for our PCN, a menopause café in the community and Women’s Health Hub Information evenings. We are keen to innovate and have been participants of the NHSE Accelerate programme in 2022/23.
We are one of two practices in Park and Orchard PCN with a co-clinical director in each practice. The PCN staff include paramedics, a social prescriber, mental health practitioners, care coordinators, a first contact practitioner (physio), clinical pharmacists and pharm techs. We use in house remote clinical pharmacists to provide medication reviews and have a robust long term condition annual recall system in place.
We are engaging in the development of the new Horsham Integrated neighbourhood Team, working with our community and statutory colleagues to improve patient care.
We are actively engaged with our PPG, running regular patient information evenings and fund raising events.
