I have a genuine passion for general practice, developed and refined over 26 years of continuous service within the NHS. Starting out I worked in general practice before taking a role with the local commissioner and subsequently joining the LMC.
Locally implementing the GMS contract in 2004, subsequent variations and Locally Commissioned Services since has given me extensive experience and knowledge of the contract, and interpreting regulations, policies and processes.
My strengths lie in strategic and operational delivery, commissioning, leadership and leading cross-system collaboration. I adopt a pragmatic approach to ensure the GP contract is used as a delivery tool to achieve the best outcome for both general practice and patients.
Over the years I have supported incidents or challenges and therefore I have strong critical thinking skills which can be applied to a lot of complex scenarios and problem solving.
When I am not working you will probably find me in my greenhouse and garden. There is nothing more satisfying than growing something from seed and then serving up a meal of home grown produce or admiring colourful flowers.
If I am not in my garden, I love spending time socialising with my family and friends.
