We are aware that practice colleagues have been reporting problems with their clinical waste collections due in part to new service arrangements which are being introduced across this Surrey and Sussex area.
NHS Surrey and Sussex have advised they are aware of some of the reported challenges and are working with Anenta to resolve them. They are planning further communications to help clarify the process and support practices to use the most appropriate routes for raising and resolving issues.
In the meantime, practices are asked to raise any concerns directly with Anenta in the first instance. This should be done by logging a ticket via the Vector system. It is important to allow Anenta sufficient time to investigate and resolve the issue, and where possible for the practice to continue using the same ticket thread if the problem persists.
Escalation to the ICB should be considered where issues have not been satisfactorily addressed, where there have been repeated missed collections, or where you feel there is a risk to safety. Where possible, photographic evidence should be included to support escalation.
