Surrey Pharmaecutical Needs Assessment Consultation

Publication date: January 0001

Dear Colleague,

Surrey Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) has produced the first draft of its 2018 Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).

From the 1st April 2013, HWBs have had a statutory responsibility to publish and keep up-to-date the PNA. The PNA provides a statement of current and future need for pharmaceutical services for the local population in its area. The PNA is used by NHS England in making decisions on applications to provide pharmaceutical services and changes to existing services and by Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups for decisions on locally commissioning services.

As part of the NHS Pharmaceutical Services Regulations 2013, the draft PNA must be available for all key stakeholders to comment on the contents of the document before it is finalised and published.

We therefore invite you to view and comment during the consultation period:

Monday 2nd October 2017 to Friday 1st December 2017.

The purpose of the consultation is to:

· encourage participation and constructive feedback from various stakeholders;

· encourage a wide range of individuals, organisations, groups and healthcare professionals to provide opinions and views on the contents of the draft PNA.

The draft PNA is available at www.surreysays.co.uk/public-health/pna

Your comments are valuable and highly appreciated. After reading the draft PNA, please complete the online PNA consultation questionnaire to give your feedback. Please promote this through your networks. All responses are confidential and no personal identifiable information will be used in the report.

If you have any queries or require a paper copy of the draft PNA and freepost consultation questionnaire, please contact public.health@surreycc.gov.uk  or Jon Walker on 020 8541 7827 or Lucy Razveeva on 020 8541 7716 and a copy will be posted out to you within 14 days.

Yours faithfully
